Rome Streetz - Kontraband

Concept & alternate artwork for KONTRABAND by Rome Streetz & Farma Beats.

„Kontraband or contraband denotes the surreptitious trade or smuggling by sea. The smuggled goods themselves are also called like that. So contraband refers to any item that, relating to its nature, is illegal to be possessed or sold.“

Of course it would have been not the best idea to focus on smuggling illegal items – but it was just perfect to think about smuggling in general. And my plan was to smuggle rare vinyl.

So the reason why I suggested @fxckrxp to produce art prints was quite simply:
I was in need of something that was able to hide the record without letting you notice anything.
Robert liked the concept and here we go: the limited ultra clear vinyl variant (only 66 pieces made) was not available in the webshop or possible to buy elsewhere.
These 66 💎s have only been produced for one reason: to be smuggled within the art print.

For me it was really difficult not to say a word about the concept within the last weeks. So the only little hint I was able to give was showing the painting as high value art pieces in different exhibitions as digital mockups which should tell you that this print is kind of special.

Salute to everyone who bought the print without knowing what to expect else. You did a great choice and I appreciate even more the value you saw in the painting.
